Once you have made a decision about the school in which you would like to enrol your child, please complete and sign the registration form.
This registration form can be collected directly from the Admissions Office or downloaded from the blue area in the upper right.
It is a requirement that you inform the school of any social, medical, physical, behavioural or academic circumstance that may have an effect on your child’s ability to cope independently within the normal classroom situation. Relevant reports should be forwarded to the school together with your application form.
Step 2 Finalising the application
Parents seeking a place must complete an Application Form and pay the NON-REFUNDABLE amount of 400AED
Parents submit the Required Documentation (blue box upper right-hand corner) to support the application.
Once your application has been processed, if there is a place available an appointment is made for the student to complete an entrance assessment.
Step 3 Securing a Place
The admissions team will contact you with a date for your child’s admissions assessment or observation. After assessment, on acceptance the child and parent would be expected to agree to and sign a school contract for success.
Acceptance at RAK Academy is contingent upon the results of the admissions assessment.
Students are offered a place if the school deems it is suitable to resource the needs of the child. These assessments vary according to the age of the child.
Parents or guardians of applicants will be notified by phone of the outcome of the assessment, usually within 24 hours of the assessment.
The following assessments are used by RAK Academy
Online testing is used for initial admission assessing, from KG2/ FS2 to Year 11.
In some case the Student Support Team (SST) will be requested to carry out further testing to ensure that the school is well informed of the students’ abilities and needs.
English as an Additional Language (EAL) students may not be able to access the mainstream assessments and will be assessed using appropriate screening tools. Also importantly their mother tongue reports will be checked and in cases where mother tongue can be assessed it will be. For example, Arabic students can be assessed by the school’s Arabic staff.
Early Years children will be observed as part of their initial assessment.
