Principal’s Message

Hello RAK Academy Community,

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer, despite the challenges we all currently face and that you and your children are ready to face the excitement of a new school year. Over the summer, since joining RAK Academy, I have been working closely with our dedicated and talented teams, to ensure that all is ready for the return of our precious students.

Schools have now been given the green light to re-open but within strict guidelines including social distancing, maximum class sizes, discrete learning ‘bubbles’ for young learners and stringent sanitisation requirements. In support of this we have developed comprehensive health and safety plans that actually exceed the guidelines set forth by the regulators, and as an Academy, we are confident that you, our parents, can rest assured that the safety, well-being and education of your children is our utmost priority within all of our schools. We have already provided re-opening information to you both from the academy and through Heads of school, and we are sure that these approaches will support excellent learning, while protecting our staff and students.

For younger students from Pre-K to Grade 1 and for senior students in Grades 10 to 12, the school has planned for a full re-opening whereby students will attend school on-campus, full-time. For Grade 2 to Grade 9 (inclusive), the school will re-open based on a blended learning approach, meaning that students will be attending school onsite for half a week (day on/day off) and for the rest of the week will be provided online learning at home, through virtual classroom access, live-streamed lessons and asynchronous learning opportunities. For those of you who have vulnerable relatives at home or who have concerns at this stage about on-site re-opening, or who are required to quarantine, we are also offering a fully online learning programme through virtual classroom technology environments, accessible from home.

I have every confidence that through our careful planning and by placing the safety of our students and staff as our highest priority, we will ensure that we are able to deliver the very best education to our students".
